Our story

Archibalda is the result of a wonderful meeting between Géraldine and Fabian, passionate about art and design. They aspire to design objects that transcend the atmosphere of a space through their simple presence, creating a deep emotional resonance. To achieve this objective, each creation was designed as a sculpture. Sharing a particular sensitivity for ceramics, they wanted their first collection to be exclusively composed of it.

Art in all its forms:
from the vibrations of the voice to exceptional lamps

Combining music with ceramics was at the heart of the creative process of the Tosca and Otello lamps: transforming sound into sculptural forms in order to evoke a whole range of emotions.

This dream has become reality, by combining technology with knowledge of the material: from the shape generated by sound to 3D printing, including the casting of the slip, glazing and firing, the process is unique .

This major innovation made it possible to create extraordinary shapes, technical feats of our Portuguese artisans, provoking curiosity and a desire to explore.
Using an innovative 3D technique, the frequencies and harmonics of the voice were transposed into organic, scuptural forms. Our craftsmen then worked for many months to ensure that these forms, defying the laws of ceramics, could be shaped in stoneware and withstand firing at over 1200 degrees, elevating ceramics to a new level of artistic expression.

This major innovation enabled the creation of extraordinary shapes, arousing curiosity and the desire to explore..

Craftsmanship, an exceptional know-how

Each creation has been meticulously made by hand to give life to unique creations, the fruit of ancestral know-how. In the workshop, the craftsman models with skill: each stage of manufacturing is like a dance with the material, each gesture, a promise....

Conversing with earth and enamels has been at the center of each creation in this collection. Ceramic appeared to be the ideal material to express the personality of objects ; the earth and the enamels transform, express their limits, surprise, grow impatient, waver, and like the butterfly emerging from its chrysalis, after a silent dialogue with the fire, create a unique object.
